Cast a line with dad for Father's Day

Reel in a happy Father's Day with dad and grandpa at the Schaumburg Park District's annual Father's Day Weekend Fishing Derby.

Children, dads and grandpas will enjoy fish, food and fun from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., June 14 at Volkening Lake, 900 W. Schaumburg Road. Fishers are divided into age groups of 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, 13-17 and a father's group. Prizes will be awarded for shortest fish, longest fish, most fish caught and most unique catch in each age group.

Participants receive a hot dog, chips and soda. Fishers must bring their own poles and bait.

Pre-registration ends at 4 p.m., June 13. Pre-registration fee is $8 for residents and $12 for non-residents. Day-of registration is $10 for residents and $14 for non-residents.
