A driver had to be extricated from his pickup truck and transported to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon near Barrington, authorities said.
The truck collided with a large landscaping company truck about 1:15 p.m. near the intersection of Route 59 and Cresthill Drive, according to Battalion Chief Jeffrey Tress of the Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District.
After firefighters removed the driver from his mangled vehicle, he was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. The extent of his injuries was unknown.
Two other people involved in the crash weren't injured, Tress said.
The streets near the scene remained closed Friday afternoon as authorities investigated.
