Barrington Rd, closures rescheduled

Lane closures on the Barrington Road bridge over the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway in Hoffman Estates have been rescheduled to occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, May 22.

The closure of the left travel lane in both the northbound and southbound directions originally was scheduled for the middle of the night early Thursday. The closures are to allow road crews to complete the traffic shift of Barrington Road to the west side of the roadway. Once the configuration is completed, Barrington Road will be reduced to two lanes in each direction through October 2014.

The bridgework is part of the widening of the tollway between Randall Road and the Tri-State Tollway. Beginning next year, work will begin on a new, $68 million interchange at Barrington Road and I-90.
