Boomers fall to Miners 4-2

MARION - The Schaumburg Boomers put the tying runs on base in the ninth inning before falling 4-2 to the Southern Illinois Miners on Tuesday night.

The Boomers (0-4), who never led, received an RBI single by Michael Valadez and a triple from Justin Vasquez, who scored on Sean Mahley's sacrifice fly. Jordan Dean and Vasquez each had 2 hits. Seth Webster suffered the loss, allowing 2 runs in 5 innings with 5 strikeouts.
