Round Lake public works open house:
Round Lake Public Works Department hosts an open house from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. The free event at public works headquarters at 751 W. Townline Road will feature exhibits, activities, popcorn, juice, a chance to sit in big trucks and more. Visitors also will have an opportunity to chat with public works employees. The event is held in conjunction with National Public Works Week. Visitors are asked to bring a nonperishable item for donation to local food pantries.
