Long Grove's Twin Orchard Country Club to Host Special Kids Network annual Golf Tournament

Recognizing that there is fewer government funding sources to help kids with special needs, the Special Kids Network is holding its 15th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament on Monday July 21, 2014 at Twin Orchard Country Club in Long Grove, IL, to raise funds for local organizations. The beneficiary for this year's event is the recreational programs of Keshet, which serves children and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

"Since the Special Kids Network was founded in 1999, by Chad and Debbie Coe, our mission is to create community awareness and raise funds in support of organizations who believe that every child and young adult, regardless of the nature of their background or disability, should be able to enjoy life to its fullest and to participate in the mainstream of their community. Our golf tournament has grown each year and it combines great fun and great fundraising for a great cause," according to Trevor Brody, Special Kids Network, Executive Director, who notes that since 1999, the event has raised more than $1.5 million.

Each year the golf tournament attracts local sports and entertainment celebrities, including former Chicago Blackhawk great, Jeremy Roenick, who is an honorary chairman.

Participants is past events have included: Denis Savard, Ben Smith, Brandon Pirri, Nick Leddy, Brandon Bollig, Stan Bowman, Sarah Kustok, Jim Hendry, Gar Foreman, Mark Giangreco, Joe Girardi, Neil Funk, Stacy King, Chuck Swirsky, Ryan Baker, Bill Wennington, Chris Williams (Actor & Comedian) and Kathy Hart of The Mix, 101.9FM

"With the roster of celebrities and on-site events, the tournament sells out every year. We have a limited number of tickets still available so we urge men and women to sign up quickly. For those non-golf fans, over the past 10 years, a women's tennis tournament is held simultaneously, "added Brody, who has expanded the sponsor list this year.
