Lindenhurst's environmental commission hosts a plant exchange and other environmentally friendly activities Saturday, May 17, at the village hall/public works garage, 2301 Sand Lake Road. An electronics recycling event is 9 a.m. to noon and the plant exchange is 10 a.m. to noon. If you have a plant, bring one for others. If you need a new plant, stop by and find one for your garden. Visitors also can also bring seeds, bulbs, garden books and magazines to exchange with other gardeners. Invasive plants are not accepted. Refreshments will be served. Call (847) 356-8252. Participants also can get a jump on spring cleaning by dropping off old electronics. Visit www.swalco.org for a complete list of acceptable items.
