Smash-and-grab burglar hits Oak Brook store

Someone broke into Lord & Taylor in Oak Brook early Wednesday morning and stole jewelry and watches, police say.

Oak Brook police responded to an active burglar alarm just before 4:30 a.m. at Lord & Taylor, 180 Oakbrook Center Mall in Oak Brook, police said in a release.

Someone smashed in the window -- similar to a smash-and-grab two months ago at the mall at the Louis Vuitton store in which burglars took bags worth more than $70,000, WBBM reported.

No one is in custody in either of those burglaries, according to WBBM.
