Schaumburg musician sponsors Veena Festival May 10-11

A music school, Ensemble of Ragas, run by Schaumburg resident and veena artist Sara Ranganathan, and SAPNA, a south suburban Flossmoor group that supports performing arts of India, are teaming up to produce the Sixth North American Veena Festival, at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 10, to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 11, at the Hindu Temple of Greater Chicago in Lemont.

A variety of thematic presentations have been planned by artists from India and U.S. Student showcases and professional performances are expected to bring in more than 80 veenas from around the country.

Admission is $20 each day. More information is at www.sapna25.com.
