Lombard is sponsoring its inaugural Lilac Time Photo Contest during this spring's Lilac Time celebration.
The village is seeking photos from Lilac Time events from May 3-18 to be featured on the village website, displayed at the village hall and used in future promotional materials.
During the contest, residents, nonresidents and members of the community can submit any number of photos to be considered. Photos can be from of any of the Lilac Time events or simply of scenic views of Lombard during May.
The goal of the contest is to collect and display beautiful images from the community during Lombard's most popular time of year.
Photos can be submitted anytime from May 3 to May 20 via email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or dropped off in hard copy or on CD at the village hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave. The deadline for submission is 4:30 p.m. May 20.
The village will announce the winner Friday, May 23. The winner will receive a prize package valued at roughly $100 and have their photo featured prominently in the August/September issue of The Pride newsletter, which is mailed to every household in Lombard.
The winning photo also will be featured on the Lombard Channel and be on display at the village hall for public view through the remainder of the year until next year's contest. The winner will receive a certificate and will be recognized by the village board at one of its June meetings.
A number of photos submitted during the Lilac Time Photo Contest will be featured in a gallery on the village's Facebook page and used for future use by the village.
All photos submitted during the contest are subject to future use by the village. Those submitting photos to the Lilac Time Photo Contest are encouraged to use the hashtag #lilactimephoto on social media to promote the contest.
