Chicago woman charged with molesting Mount Prospect teen

Cook County prosecutors on Tuesday announced an indictment against a 22-year-old Chicago woman who they say molested a teenage girl from Mount Prospect multiple times from June 2013 to March 2014.

Jesenia Escobido was charged with five counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, said Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Elizabeth Brogan.

The mother of the teen, now 15, discovered sexually explicit text messages from Escobido on her daughter's phone and alerted Mount Prospect police, Brogan said.

Escobido, who has no criminal background, is free on a $25,000 bond, Brogan said.

If convicted, she could face from three to seven years in prison. Probation is also available.

Escobido next appears in court on May 27.
