Chicago man charged with murder in Waukegan stabbing

A Chicago man has been charged with first-degree murder in the Friday afternoon death of another Chicago man in Waukegan, the Waukegan Police Department said Saturday in a news release.

Police responded at 1:43 p.m. to a stabbing in the 2400 block of Dugdale Road The victim, Sammy Lee Wallace, 31, of the 6900 block of East End in Chicago, was later pronounced dead at Vista East Hospital.

The suspect, Terrance Hendrix, 35, of the 100 block of South Campbell in Chicago, was taken into custody at the scene without incident, police said. Hendrix is being held in the Lake County Jail, with bail set at $2 million. His next scheduled court appearance is May 19.

Police said it was reported that a verbal argument that took place two weeks ago at a party between the two men, who had an ongoing feud. The two men saw one another again Friday inside an apartment complex in Waukegan, and Hendrix stabbed Wallace during a confrontation, police said.
