Cost of two new fire stations is absurd

$10 million ... Are you kidding?

Don't misunderstand me, I love our firemen and paramedics - they are great professionals and I want the best for them. I want them to have the best equipment, sleeping facilities, cooking and dining spaces; however, not for $5 million per building.

No one I know in this area lives in a $5 million home so let's get real.

To even consider building two fire stations at the most east and west borders of the city (not even considering the cost) is absolutely ludicrous; leaving the core of the city in limbo for protection.

Also the fact that our downtown is looking more and more like a ghetto with vacancies throughout, how can the city council even project these improvements without looking at the mess they are leaving behind.
