Clare Oaks honors milestone resident

On March 26, at a 9:30 a.m. mass, Sr. Constance Szymandera was honored for her dedication to others through a Prayer Shawl Ministry.

Sr. Connie has now reached the milestone of crocheting her 500th Prayer Shawl. She is a very active resident at Clare Oaks and oversees this important ministry. These prayer shawls are given to the residents of the Assisi Health Care Center, which is located on the same campus as Clare Oaks. She also ministers by distributing her shawls to residents staying in area hospitals. Pope Benedict and Cardinal George have also been recipients of her prayers and shawls.

Sr. Connie is a member of The Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis, who are also the founders of Clare Oaks.

Clare Oaks is a Continuing Care Retirement Community in Bartlett which opened in February, 2008. The residents of Clare Oaks live in a variety of apartments and cottages for independent living. Clare Oaks also offers residences for assisted living, memory support assisted living and a skilled nursing center offering short-term and long term rehabilitation services and skilled nursing care.
