Elk Grove celebrates Arbor Day Friday

The annual Arbor Day celebration hosted by the Elk Grove Park District is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday.

A new tree is planted every Arbor Day, and this year organizers are planning to plant a Quaking Aspen Tree. The ceremony also will feature the reading of an Arbor Day proclamation, a story about the importance of trees, and children singing about planting a tree, officials said.
