McHenry County Coroner officials said a 15-year-old boy pulled from a pond in unincorporated McHenry County near Crystal Lake is dead.

McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski said in a news release at 9 a.m. that the 15-year-old Hispanic male from Crystal Lake was rescued from the pond located behind a home in the 6100 block of Haligus Road near Crystal Lake at 10:30 p.m.

However, she said, the teen was pronounced dead at 11:43 p.m. Thursday night at Centegra Woodstock Hospital.
