Hanover Park police are investigating an armed robbery at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of a store on the 2000 block of Army Trail Road. Police say the robber, carrying a hunting knife, approached an adult and took a black leather purse. He fled on foot across Army Trail Road and climbed over a tall white fence into a residential neighborhood in Carol Stream, police said. He is described as a white male, about 18, with a thin build and about 5 feet 11 inches tall, wearing a black baseball hat, black sweatpants with a green stripe down the legs, a black hooded sweatshirt and shoes with thick, green shoelaces. Anyone with information is asked to call Hanover Park police at (630) 823-5500.
