Monday weather provides preview of what's ahead

Warm temperatures were not expected to last beyond Monday, but we'll take what we can get.

Springlike temperatures in the Fox Valley were not taken for granted, especially by a couple of Judson University students looking to relax between classes.

Biology/pre-med sophomore Spencer Thomas and music performance freshman Bethany Cooper enjoyed the warm sunshine along the banks of Tyler Creek on the school's Elgin campus.

Although spring is officially a few weeks old, the usual daytime high temperatures have been elusive, and will continue to be later this week, as they could dip into the 30s according to The Weather Channel.

If you were lucky enough to spend some time outside Monday, hold that thought. The Weather Channel website said it was 69 degrees at 1 p.m., but will dip into the low 50s Tuesday and the 40s Wednesday, but is forecasting highs solidly in the 50s beginning next week.
