No injuries in Lombard house fire

A fire damaged a single-family home in Lombard Wednesday evening.

Lombard firefighters responded to a call at about 6:30 p.m. of a second-floor bedroom fire on the 200 block of west Central Avenue just west of Main Street, firefighters said. "Thankfully it was reported that all of the people were out of the home before our arrival," Lombard Batallion Chief Marty Coomes said. "We did have a small fire in one of the bedrooms. Companies from Lombard here were able to get the fire under control relatively quickly."

There were no injuries, officials said.

York Center, Oak Brook, Glenside and Addison fire departments assisted.

No damage estimates were available. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
