Fire damages Lake Zurich car dealership

A fire damaged a high-end auto dealership in Lake Zurich late yesterday afternoon, but most of the Midwest Motors' luxury and exotic vehicles escaped unscathed, fire officials said. Smoke and fire damaged the second floor of the dealership, while the first floor sustained water damage. Full story.

Safety systems, train operator under scrutiny in CTA crash

After a CTA blue line train jumped the track and onto an escalator at O'Hare International Airport yesterday morning, investigators say they're focusing on why the safety measures in place didn't prevent the crash, which injured 32 people. Drivers might encounter slick spots this morning, especially on side streets and bridges, after a coating of snow fell overnight. Delays are occurring on eastbound I-290, on southbound Rand Road south of Lake Zurich, on eastbound I-90 approaching O'Hare, on northbound I-355 approaching Roosevelt Road and on eastbound I-88 between Route 31 and Route 59. Kane County animal neglect case riles volunteers

Volunteers caring for animals in Kane County custody after being taken from an Elgin woman who is accused of animal cruelty and neglect charges are livid that Stacy Fiebelkorn gets to retain ownership of some of the animals while she awaits trial. 'Beauty salon bandit' sentenced for robberies

A man known as the "Beauty Salon Bandit" for repeatedly robbing beauty salons throughout DuPage and Cook counties plead guilty and was sentenced yesterday for four robberies that took place in Glen Ellyn, Lombard and Bensenville in late 2012 and early 2013. Full story.

Bulls forward Taj Gibson carried his team to an 89-77 victory last night over the Indiana Pacers at the United Center. Gibson was the team's highest scorer with 23 points. The Bulls (40-31) pulled closer to Toronto (39-30) for third place in the Eastern Conference. Full story.
