Body found in preserve near Rosemont

A crew completing community service in a forest preserve near Rosemont found the body of a man late Monday morning, Cook County officials said.

Cook County police continue to investigate the death of an unidentified white male believed to be in his 60s, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Workers found the body in a preserve on the 6200 block of River Road. An autopsy is planned for Tuesday, medical examiner's officials said.

The workers were part of the county's SWAP program that uses detainees sentenced to community service to clean up liter and debris from various areas, said Ben Breit, spokesman for the Cook County sheriff's office.

"Tomorrow we should have more depending on how it progresses," Breit said.
