Brin to challenge for GOP chairman:

Lake County Circuit Clerk Keith Brin on Monday announced his candidacy for chairman of the Lake County Republican Party. Brin, who also is a Republican committeeman, said the party needs new leadership as more Democrats are winning offices in areas that used to be Republican. An attorney from Highland Park, Brin was elected as circuit court clerk in 2012. He is vice chairman of the Moraine Township Republicans. Bob Cook of Wauconda is completing his second two-year term as Lake County Republican chairman.
