City doesn't need new fire stations

Did the city of Rolling Meadows strike oil? Or maybe some generous citizen donated millions of dollars to the city?

One of these things must have happened since the city wants to build two new fire stations when the one on Plum Grove Road is functional and the one on Meadow Drive can be renovated for less than half the cost of building a new one.

If the city has so much extra money, maybe they should lower our taxes or, better yet, lower the cost of our ridiculously high garbage pickup rates.
