St. Francis de Sales Catholic School hosts its own Winter Olmpic competition

The spirit of the Winter Olympics continues at St. Francis de Sales Catholic School in Lake Zurich.

On Friday, the school held a Winter Olympics featuring students competing in five events.

Gold, silver and bronze medals were up for grabs in the school's version of hockey, speed skating, ski jumping, skeleton and curling.

Students have been learning about the Olympics and the participating countries through their academic and fine-art studies. They have been participating in the five sporting events in gym class, and the winners from each grade level moved on to Friday's competition.
