Team can get Illinois back on track

There are a great many people chasing after the "new kid on the campaign block." To borrow a slogan from a recent presidential campaign, Mr. Bruce Rauner is a candidate who is "a blank canvas on which we can paint our hopes." He is making campaign pledges that will never see the light of day, let alone pass the supermajority Democrat-controlled state legislature.

Mr. Rauner has no history of elected office on which we can judge his voting and policy record. He has no experience in crafting and passing legislation, and as a high-powered businessman he is used to getting his way with subordinates, which will not fly in egocentric Springfield and the likes of Speaker Madigan and Senate President Cullerton.

I strongly endorse state Sen. Kirk Dillard for governor and running mate Rep. Jil Tracy for lieutenant governor. They have the legislative experience to deal with the egos and unfortunate machinations of the legislative process and state government bureaucracy. Sen. Dillard has previous executive branch experience having worked as a top aide to Gov. Edgar in his very successful administration.

Only Sen. Dillard and Rep. Tracy have the skills necessary to influence the legislature for positive and achievable reform. Sen. Dillard and Rep. Tracy also support the entire Republican platform. They do not dodge or spin their positions on the issues of life, traditional marriage and the second amendment.

Mr. Rauner has refused repeatedly to answer questions on the life and marriage issues and has been vague on gun control. These top offices require courage of conviction on all issues. Kirk Dillard and Jill Tracy have the courage and experience to get Illinois back on track, and I encourage you to vote for the Dillard/Tracy team.
