• Amanda Leone, 29, of the 400 block of Cavalier Court, West Dundee, was arrested on charges of driving without a valid driver's license during a Wednesday traffic stop, and later charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a police report. Police pulled over Leone at Brookdale Drive and Maple Avenue at 8:50 p.m. and searched her after the arrest, which is when police found the drugs and a drug pipe, Cmdr. Erman Blevins said. Her bail and court information were not available Friday.
• A resident of the 38W500 block of Hilltop Drive near St. Charles reported an identity theft on Monday, according a sheriff's report. The resident tried to file his taxes Feb. 23 and got an error message. After trying again and getting another error message, he called the Internal Revenue Service, which told him someone used his Social Security number earlier in the year to file taxes.
• Wood planks and parts of support beams were stolen from a barn on the 36W800 block of Big Timber Road near Elgin between 4 p.m. March 1 and 3:56 p.m. Monday, according to a sheriff's report.
• A resident of the 10N800 block of South Airlite Street near Elgin reported Thursday that someone used his Social Security number to file taxes, according to a sheriff's report.
