Fire destroys house in Ingleside

Firefighters are still investigating what caused a fire in an Ingleside home on Thursday afternoon.

Crews arrived on the scene at 1:19 p.m. and reported fire coming from the second story of the house on the 34000 block of North Michael Road.

The fire was under control in about 45 minutes but stayed on the scene for several hours to put out hot spots and investigate. T

There was "heavy damage" to the home, which officials said was no longer habitable, according to Fox Lake Batallion Chief Tom Predis.

Fox Lake, Round Lake and Lake Villa departments responded. No hydrants were available in the neighborhood, which is south of Bay Road and west of Route 12. Crews had to bring in tankers to pump water to the scene.

No one was injured in the blaze.
