Kane County Recycles takes your old electronics, books, shredding March 8

Kane County Recycles will offer free document shredding along with electronics and book recycling for the monthly event in March.

The drive-through event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 8, behind the Kane County Circuit Clerk's Office at 540 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.

Bring your confidential documents for shredding in paper bags or boxes. No quantity limit as long as it is residential material. No documents from businesses will be taken. More guidelines can be found at www.countyofkane.org/recycling under "Document Shredding."

Recycle electronics like computers, keyboards, laptops, printers, televisions (any size or age), stereos, cellphones, microwaves, Christmas lights, and more. You can also recycle books of any age and condition here. They will be unloaded for you. A complete list of accepted items and more information can be found at www.countyofkane.org/recycling under "Electronics Recycling."

Hazardous waste or large household appliances will not be accepted.
