Bartlett crash shuts down part of Lake Street

A three-vehicle crash in Bartlett on Monday closed Lake Street near Naperville Road for more than an hour, police said.

Two people were taken to a hospital after the crash, which happened about 4 p.m. just west of Naperville Road.

Police say a silver 2000 Nissan Maxima was traveling west Lake Street when it struck the rear driver's side of a 1999 Ford van traveling in the outside lane of traffic.

The van then lost control, went into oncoming traffic and was hit by an eastbound Chevrolet Traverse, causing the van to flip on its passenger's side, police said.

The driver of the van and the Traverse were both taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. The crash remains under investigation, police said.
