Columnist wrong about deficit declining

Donna Brazile's Feb. 11 column, "The good news that you probably never heard," wrongly claims that "the fact is the deficit has been falling steadily since 2009" and suggests President Obama has cut the budget deficit by over half. She's totally misleading readers by misrepresenting the annual national deficit for the accumulated national deficit.

The fact is the accumulated deficit has continued to grow each and every year. The statement Ms. Brazile should have made is that the annual addition to the nation's growing deficit has fallen in each year since 2009. That's a huge difference!
