Thanks to those who toil through winter

As this long, cold, snowy winter drags on we should all give our special thanks to the Mount Prospect Public Works Department for helping us get around in this polar experience.

Since Thanksgiving they have been working 12-hour days plowing, salting and hauling snow away when it gets too high and causes safety issues. Then for a change of pace they get broken water mains to repair in this environment. The time away from families on special days and normal sleep patterns really disrupts lives.

And don't forget our firemen, who worked so hard and long on the Sakura fire in that cold, and Public Works was out there too spreading salt and blocking streets. There's not much that goes on in this town without the PW employees.

They deserve an extra pat on the back and "atta boy" to get through the rest of this season!
