Sing it loud, sing it in any language

Anyone who wants to complain can find plenty of reasons to do so. Just turn on the radio or TV, take a look at the newspapers or fire up your computer. There are so many reasons to complain.

In fact, we should be angry and should complain. Our politicians spend millions trying to solve problems in the Mideast while innocent people are gunned down in Chicago every day. Elected officials bow to special interests instead the citizens who elected them. Corruption is rampant at all levels of government.

Yes, there are many things to complain about. Singing "America the Beautiful" in any language is not one of them. I applaud those young women who sang the song in several languages to a national audience. I would like to think that America is a beautiful place, and I would like others to think so too. I would like to hear the song more often. I would like it to be sung in all parts of the world in all languages.

If America is as beautiful as the song says it is, let's spread the word.
