Ryan's tax cuts are hypocritical

Paul Ryan's newest budget marks the seventh time he has tried to ram his anti-middle class and environment budget through Congress. Why would he strangle the middle class when the average income for 90 percent of workers is now at 1966 rates?

His cuts would include: cuts to food stamps by $126 billion; cuts to student loans, Pell Grants, by $700 billion; cuts to education by 24 percent by 2024; block increasing the minimum wage; turn Medicare into a voucher system; increase military spending by $483 billion; fully repeal the Affordable Care Act, and expand onshore and offshore gas and oil production in areas such as Alaska, the Outer continental shelf, including the Gulf of Mexico, and the Intermountain West, but the rich would still get their tax breaks.

Why would Ryan, who used his father's Social Security to attend college when his family could well-afford his college education, push his cannibalistic agenda again and again? Simple: the middle class would get a $2,000 tax increase and the millionaires would receive $200,000 in "entitlement" tax cuts. His cuts are hypocritical and are another example of perpetuating income inequality where all the money is transferred to the wealthy, corporations and Wall Street.

Ryan continues to convince voters that the poor will work harder if they get reduced entitlements while the rich will work harder if they get bigger tax cuts, namely "entitlements." Locally, Congressmen Randy Hultgren and Peter Roskam are in lock step with Ryan.

Budget cut attempts will continue until, one day, they become a reality.
