Read Constitution, editorial staff

After reading the Daily Herald's Nov. 23 editorial regarding immigration, it is not the first time I have questioned whether anyone on the editorial staff has ever once read the Constitution of the United States, or the Bill of Rights.

If so, do you believe the documents that along with the Declaration of Independence gave birth to the greatest country on earth are optional and/or obsolete? By the way, reread the 14th Amendment. It does not allow anchor babies, and that policy needs to be stopped as well.

The Constitution is very clear that only Congress determines immigration policy. Reagan's amnesty grant was based on congressional approval and on the promise of the border being fixed. It is still not fixed 30 years later.

Fix the border, then let's talk about the rest of our policy. Until then, Obama's actions on this subject are illegal and in direct contrast to his Oath of Office by which he swore to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution.
