Fast Facts: Deerfield is looking for a résumé-building win in what has been a very successful season thus far for the Warriors. They are 5-1 in the Central Suburban with a tough road win at Highland Park and a home win over Niles North in the past couple of weeks. The Warriors have a unique set of players, led by a pair of three-year starters in team captains Alfieri and Porter, who are both considering Division III offers to continue their careers. Porter leads the team in scoring, while Alfieri is second in scoring and is the team’s leading rebounder. Lieb has burst on the scene after missing last season due to injury. The athletic 6-foot-8 talent is starting to get some Division I looks. Fasianos is only in his second year in the states after growing up in Greece, but his high-flying game is attracting the attention of scouts. Fresh off the 500th career win for Coach Tom McCormack, Conant features a hot shooting lineup led by Ranello. He leads the team with 13.8 points per game, 49 assists, 40 steals, 43.7 percent shooting from three-point land and 83.3 percent at the stripe. McBride leads the team in rebounding at 6.2 per game and averages 10.8 points per game. Blaha is shooting 63.2 percent from the field to get to his 10.2 points per game. Sotos pitches in rebounding and with some scoring. The Cougars have won nine straight games after a 7-4 start to the season and are on a roll heading into the postseason.
