Support lawmakers who fought pension bill

I hope retirees and members of all the educational and state labor professional organizations persuade their leadership to withhold all endorsements and financial contributions for any candidate for the office of governor in Illinois. Currently there are no worthwhile or deserving candidates for this office.

Instead, I would encourage those labor organizations to take all that money and pour it into the campaign funds of the truly deserving and brave legislative individuals who did the “right thing” and voted “no” to the unconstitutional Senate Bill 1 pension bill.

The 53 house legislators and the 24 senators should receive our financial support because they knew the law was unfair, unconstitutional and voted “no.” They stood up for us unlike our present governor. So they deserve our support. Awarding these funds to those legislators could help offset the money Madigan divvies up to his legislative lemmings. Remember there was no shared responsibility in this bill, House Speaker Michael Madigan and Senate President John Cullerton made it very punitive to currently retired seniors.
