Three hurt in Algonquin crash

Three people were taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening after a four-car accident Friday night in Algonquin, officials said.

Firefighters said the three were taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin as a precaution.

The accident occurred just before 6 p.m. at Filip and Main Streets, officials said, and it appeared that a car going north hit another northbound car and two southbound cars.

Main Street was closed for 41 minutes after the crash, firefighters said.
