Streamwood man charged with child pornography

A 49-year-old Streamwood man, whose wife operates a day care business at their home, is facing child pornography charges.

Authorities said Charles Brown, of the 300 block of Somerset Drive, had downloaded “numerous” videos and pictures depicting children engaged in sex acts. It is unclear if any of the children in the images were children he knows or his wife cared for.

Brown was arrested Tuesday and a Cook County judge set his bail amount at $25,000. He has since posted 10 percent of that for a bond.

The judge also barred Brown from returning home, accessing the Internet and using cellphones. He’s also barred from having contact with anyone under the age of 18, prosecutors said.

Brown’s next court date is slated for Feb. 13 at the Cook County courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
