Three 18-year-olds have been charged with armed robbery after prosecutors say they threatened a Wheeling man from whom they intended to buy marijuana.
Arrested on Jan. 12 were Gerardo Arreola, of Arlington Heights, and Pawel Blonski and Nathan Fakhouri, both of Mount Prospect.
Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Maureen McGee said the three men went to the other man's home to buy marijuana.
The man entered a car driven by Fakhouri and turned over the marijuana, McGee said. She said Blonski then pointed a weapon at the man and told him, "give me everything you got and get out."
As the man was pushed out of the car, he lost his phone, which police recovered.
Bail was set at $20,000 for Arreola, $25,000 for Fakhouri and $35,000 for Blonski, who has a possession of cannabis case pending in Skokie, McGee said. Fakhouri has a possession of cannabis case pending in Rolling Meadows, for which Judge Jill Cerone Marisie set bail at $25,000 for a total of $50,000.
Marisie also ordered the defendants to submit to electronic monitoring if they post bail.
The defendants next appear in court on Feb. 10.
