Armed man robs Lisle Aldi
An armed man robbed an Aldi in Lisle Monday afternoon, Lisle police say.
The thief, a white man in his 20s, entered the store on the 5500 block of Route 53 at 2:35 p.m. and took money from an open cash register drawer, police said.
When a clerk attempted to close the drawer, the man pulled a silver or gray handgun, police said, before taking money from the drawer and leaving.
The man fled in a silver or gray four-door sedan, heading east on Maple Avenue. Nobody was injured in the robbery.
The thief is described as 5-feet, 8-inches tall and 160 pounds, wearing a black baseball hat — possibly Hurly — with a black jacket and blue jeans.
Lisle police encourage anyone with information to call (630) 271-4200.
