Teams, including talented skaters competing for the Starlights of Buffalo Grove/Vernon Hills, will test their skills in one of the largest competitions of the season. The event features 2,700 skaters representing 171 synchronized skating teams. The top teams will advance to the 2014 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships Feb. 26 to March 1 in Colorado Springs, Colo.

In synchronized skating, teams of 12 to 20 skaters perform in unison, executing difficult turns and creating patterns while moving at high speeds.
