AquaSprite coaches, athlete attend Olympic Training Center camp

AquaSprites Head Coach Nan Zack of Mount Prospect attended the USA Coaches College at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., with representatives and coaches from North and South America.

The conference addressed the new rules, elements and training methods for Synchronized Swimming established by FINA International for the Quadrennial after the Olympic Games.

Athlete Sasha Boudko of Wadsworth and Assistant Coach Veronica Morgan of Rolling Meadows attended the All Star Camp directed toward new training methods and elements.

Morgan was selected by North Zone, USA Synchro, to represent them at the All Star Camp. Included in the program were flexibility, strength, coordination, gymnastics, dance and injury prevention.

The AquaSprites Team, established in 1972 at Lattof YMCA, 300 E Northwest Hwy., in Des Plaines, welcomes girls ages 6-19 who can swim a length of the pool. The Masters Team welcomes those 20 and older.
