Satisfy a deployed soldier’s sweet tooth with cookies

Submitted by Batavia Cares

The Pat Tillman USO on Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan has request home baked goods for the troops. “Those are always in demand, and food, especially homemade, never goes unappreciated.

Batavia Cares also has other units that are appreciative of homemade baked goods. Batavia Cares is starting “The Cookie of the Month Club.” Bakers are asked to bake one batch of cookies per month to be sent to the deployed troops. To sign up for the club contact Batavia Cares at support@bataviacares.org, or call (630) 687-1943.

This a great projects for the youth organizations, stay at home moms and any others who would like to send some treats to the deployed troops. Cookies can be dropped off at ACE Hardware or Berkeley’s Finer Foods in Batavia.

If you have a friend, or family member deployed and would like them to receive some of these treats register them on the Batavia Cares website, call (630) 687-1943 or fax to (630) 870-0373.
