BG chamber honors its best of 2013
On Jan. 7, the Buffalo Grove Area chamber recognized business owners and volunteers with the 2013 Chamber Commitment Awards, the annual event to recognize members for their service.
Director of the Year
Sid Rothenberg, Reliable Information Technology: Sid Rothenberg has been a member of the chamber since 2003 and was elected a chamber director in 2007. He volunteers for many chamber events and serves as a Chamber Ambassador.
He has served on the finance committee and chaired the social media committee. This past year, Sid was the go-to person for both the golf outing and the beer garden at Buffalo Grove Days.
We thank Sid Rothenberg for his dedication and continued support of the Buffalo Grove Area Chamber.
Member of the Year
Ron Ross, Suddath Relocation Systems: Ron Ross is the sales manager for Suddath Relocation Systems of Chicago, a member of the chamber since 2012. The company has been a Gold Member for the past two years and has been a sponsor of the Heart of Buffalo Grove Awards.
Ron serves as a member of the Marketing Committee and co-chairs the Business Advantage Network. He has also donated Suddath’s reusable bags for several of our 2013 major events.
We thank Ron Ross for his commitment and support of the Chamber.
Business of the Year
Buffalo Grove Bank & Trust: Buffalo Grove Bank & Trust has been a member of the chamber since 2004 and has always been a Gold Member. The bank has been a generous sponsor of the chamber’s golf outing, the BG Days Festival and the event sponsor for the Chamber’s SCORE workshops and the Heart of Buffalo Grove Awards.
They have also hosted many After Hours events. Employees of the bank have served on the board, chamber committees and have volunteered many hours at Chamber events.

Ambassador of the Year
Vicki Baker, Gifts of Distinction: The Ambassador of the Year was presented to Vicki Baker of Gifts of Distinction for her dedication as chairwoman of the Ambassadors program. Vicki has chaired the Ambassadors for more than five years and always sells the ‘winning ticket’ for our scholarship raffle.
Vicki has been a member of the chamber since 1994 and a member of the chamber board since 2005. She has been a Gold Member and has served as a member and chair of the Golf Outing Committee. Vicki yearly volunteers at the golf outing and the Buffalo Grove Days Beer Garden.
