Chicago poet to lead discussion at Palatine library

The Northwest Cultural Council Second Saturday Poetry Workshop 9 a.m. to noon Jan. 11 at the Palatine Public Library, 700 N. North Court, will be led by Maureen Tolman Flannery on the topic The Poetry of Bafflement. Her most recent volume of poems is “Tunnel into Morning.” Her other books include “Destiny Whispers to the Beloved,” “A Fine Line,” and the Pulitzer-Prize-nominated “Ancestors in the Landscape.” She grew up on a Wyoming sheep ranch, but with her actor husband Dan has raised four children in Chicago.
