Military veterans meeting in Lake County

Military veterans in Lake County are invited to attend a special service session at 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, at American Legion Post 964, 51 Lions Drive, Lake Zurich, to learn more about the American Legion and veteran benefits, a news release stated. American Legion National Vice Cmdr. Robert E. Newman will also present the Department of Defense Patriot Award to representatives from AT&T, Best Buy and Northwestern Grayslake Emergency Center of Grayslake for their support to employees serving in the Guard and Reserve Forces. Newman will also discuss issues affecting military veterans in Lake County. Veterans Assistance Commission Superintendent Michael Peck, an accredited American Legion veterans service officer, will be available to answer VA-related questions about claims and benefits.
