Hear Broadway favorites at Fox Country Players’ benefit

Rehearsals are already under way for Fox Country Players’ annual benefit concert, “A Night of Broadway,” which will be staged at the Community Christian Church in Yorkville at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18.

Staged under the direction of Marcia Swanson and Nan Grommes, a number of talented local and regional vocalists will present songs from some of the greatest Broadway musicals, including “Phantom of the Opera,” Miss Saigon,” “South Pacific,” “The King and I,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Secret Garden” “I Do, I Do,” “Gypsy,” “Cinderella,” and “Jesus Christ Superstar.”

Performers include Don Austin, Jake Austin, Andy Buel, Marilyn DiCola, Alexis Dilg, Kathie Hart, Rebecca Hof, Erin Mayer, Meg McGarry, Mike McHugh, Nick Miesuk, Sarah Nelson, Kim Schomer, Patrick Stinson, Paula Svendsen, Michele Wade, and Matt Weaver.

The event will include a silent auction in support of Fox Country Players’ Theatre Arts Academy. The auction will include a variety of donated items, services, and tickets for shows and events.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. for bidding on silent auction items, prior to the concert at 7 p.m.
