U-46 grading needs more common sense

U-46 grading needs more common sense

For too long, the Elgin Area School District U-46 has used the large size of the district to its advantage. It has not had to change policies due to parental or student concern.

The new 0-5 grading system is a nightmare. It can wreck the GPA of a college bound student, while, at the same time, give 50 percent credit to students who turn in no work.

We need to come together to have our voices be heard. I have started a Facebook page — Parents and Students Communicate Across U46 — so that all of the schools can have a place to work together to have our voices be heard. There is strength in numbers. Please join me and the other parents fighting for common sense grading in District U-46.
