Senate’s procedural change is outrageous

The president and Sen. Harry Reid have orchestrated a coup d’etat of the United States Senate, only no shots were fired.

Could you please explain to me what breaking the rules to change the rules means? I wonder if the people in this country realize tyranny is taking place today. Every freedom-loving American should be outraged at what is happening to this country. We now live in a dictatorship.
