Reckless buying linked to higher gas tax?

On Dec. 16, after dropping my wife off at the Roselle train station, for the intent of fuel savings I proceeded to drive a mile deeper into Dupage County ending up on busy Lake Street to fill my fuel tank. At $3.29 per gallon I filled up, then drove less than three miles north to Schaumburg road where gas was $3.45 per gallon. Buying 16 gallons saved me $2.56.

I question, if my Cook County Commissioner Tim Schneider did not sell his useless golf course to the county for $5.6 million, would Cook County fuel taxes be just a little cheaper? Thank you, DuPage County, for not purchasing useless golf courses during the major recession from your own public officials!
